The bike route is suitable for less
experienced bikers and for the whole families. The route starts
in Trstená and leads to Tvrdošín where you turn right to Orava
Dam. In Tvrdošín it is necessary to overcome the first climb,
then you follow the high positioned road with overview to
Tvrdošín city and Štefanov village. On the next road crossing
turn right to follow "Ústie nad Priehradou/Trstená" sign. Use
low traffic road and get to the Orava Dam construction. The
route leads in Trstená direction where you experience high and
short climb directly in front of the Trstená city entrance.
Less experienced bikers or children can walk uphill to overcome
the steep climb - it is short. You will be rewarded with a
magnificient view of the Orava Dam, Babia hora mountain, and the
mountain range of West Tatra Mountains. The route ends in the
Trstená city usually sitting on the terrace with the icecream or
with the cold drink.

Zábiedovo |

The bike route starts in Trstená
(600 m above the sea level) and leads toward the Tvrdošín, do
not miss the left turn to Zábiedovo after leaving the Trstená
city. Road leads through the Zábiedovo village into the
Skorušina valley. The scenery of the country is changed from the
road in the middle of the valley accompanied with the creek to
the reinforced forest road in deep forest. Here you have to
overcome steep incline which leads up to the peak of Skorušina
mountain (1314 m a.s.l.). The road surface is changed from the
asphalt surface to graved terrace which ends at the timber
warehouse 100 m under the summit. Most tours ends here also. You
can follow the forest road to get to the peak, but is is
suitable in good weather conditions only. On top you are
rewarded by the spectacular view of the whole Orava region,
Polish Tatra Mountains, West Tatra Mountains, Chočské vrchy
mountains, Babia hora Mountain. Use the viewing tower here (15
metres high) and also relax on benches with some drink and food.

The route starts in Trstená city
(600 m a.s.l.) leads toward Tvrdošín city to Podbiel village.
turn left here and follow the Zuberec/Habovka direction. Turn
left in Habovka or in Zuberec (760 m a.s.l.) and follow the
Oravice direction. It is necessary to overcome steep climb to
the Bôrik saddle (890 m a.s.l.) which is the highest point on
the route. After a short downhill rally you get to the Oravice
recreational centre (790 m a.s.l.) where you can have a rest and
use the thermal spa services (thermal bath with masager and
jacuzzi). To finish the route you have to pass through Vitanová
village and Liesek Villaga to Trstená city and the road rewards
you with the 20 km distant continual pleasant downhill ride.

Orava Dam

This bike route starts in Trstená
(600 m a.s.l.) and is intended for less experienced bikers and
whole families because it has no steep long climbs, but it is a
bit longer. Follow the Nové ústie direction and cross the Orava
Dam bridge. Continue to Námestovo, turn right and go to
Zubrohlava, here turn to the right to Bobrov direction. Follow
the low (no) traffic road to the customs office at Polish border.
Continue streight to Jablonka village. After the customs office
you will get to the highest point of the route. This area lets
you see the majesty of Polish Tatra Mounatains and the full wide
of Tatra Mountains range. In Jablonka village turn right to
Chyžné customs office, get Back to Slovakia and get back to
Trstená city.
Note: It is necessary to have the valid ID (passport) to cross
the Slovak-Polish border

Magurka TV

The route starts in Trstená (600 m
a.s.l.) and goes through Nové Ústie village and across the Orava
Dam bridge to Námestovo. 1 kilometer in front of the big road
crossing Námestovo-Vavrečka turn left and follow steep climb
asphalt road whcich leads to the top of the hill to the TV tower
Magurka (1107 m a.s.l.). The whole road goes throgh forest and
there are only a few places where the open forest let bikers to
admire the magnificient scenery of the view of the vast water of
Orava Dam, Babia hora mountain and Piľsko mountain. After
reaching the summit you can admire just the building of the TV
tower, relax and go back donwhill following the same way.
To continue with more difficult version: Good bikers with
the bikes capable of forest riding can continue following the
hiking route toward the hill Javorový vrch (1076 m a.s.l.), it
is necessary to overcome the extra climb of 100 m. It is
recommended to make tris trip under good weather conditions to
prevent riding the mud paths. The summit of Javorový vrch offers
the spectacular view of the Orava river valley, mountains Veľký
Choč, Rozsutec and High Tatra mountains. Take the rest and
prepare for deep downhill ride which is the real test of the
bike functions, of the breaks reliability, of the biker safety
equipment and of the biker courage. The end of the ride will
leave the unforgettable epinephrine emotion of the wild
continuous downhill ride of 600 metre "fall".

The bike route strats in Tvrdošín
(570 m a.s.l.) and leads through Podbiel to Oravský Podzámok
village (511 m a.s.l.). Here it is possible to see the majesty
of Orava castle and take a break for the exhibition. Turning to
the right follow the Hruštín/Námestovo direction. It is
necessary to overcome the long steep continual climb of 300 m to
the Príslop saddle. The saddle gives the possibility to admire
the valley of Biela Orava river and villages surrounding by
mountains. The route follows through Hruštín village, Lokca
village and then turn right through Vavrečka village along the
Orava Dam shore to Tvrdošín.

Huty |

The route starts in Podbiel village
(550 m a.s.l.) or in Zuberec village (760 m a.s.l.). Follow the
Huty direction andafter a steep climb you get to Huty saddle
(937 m a.s.l.). Follow the downhill road to Huty village (789 m
a.s.l.). It is necessary to continue the Veľké Borové direction.
In Veľké Borové it is possible to make on foot hike tour to
Prosiecka dolina (valley) which is famous for natural beauty.
Now you can go back to Male Borové and turn right to Kvačianska
dolina. The road ends in the area of the old mill in
Oblazy showing the old milling technique which was preserved and
is protected as the
technical heritage of Slovakia. Use the same way to get back to
Huty and Zuberec/Podbiel.
To continue with more difficult version: Good bikers with
the bikes capable of forest riding can continue following the
old road through Kvačianska dolina (Kvačianska valley) to
Kvačany village, then leaving Kvačany turn left to Liptovské
Matiašovce. Follow the road to Zuberec through Huty saddle. It
is necessary to overcome additional climb - more than 520 metres.
